RSPB Leighton Moss and lots of wildlife sightings

Two birders, one day, and a visit to Leighton Moss.

Once a month, I and my friend Mark try to get out and do some bird watching. Mark mentioned he hadn’t been to RSPB Leighton Moss for up to 20 years ago. So we jumped on the M6 Northbound with RSPB Leighton Moss in our sights!

RSPB Leighton Moss has a great lineup of wildlife and we almost saw them all. It was fantastic to see the Bearded Tits. We also spotted the Otters swimming across the lake. The Marsh harriers were in fine fettle. We heard a Cetti’s Warbler and saw a nice variety of ducks and other water birds.

The day was full of amazing sightings. Come take a look.

We bumped into fellow birder and one of my favourite comedians Vic Reeves / Jim Moir

It felt a bit surreal sharing a wildlife hide with a TV comedian who I find absolutely hilarious. Jim was filming and collecting some inspiration for his paintings of birds.

He particularly liked the “Drip drying Cormorant”.

Definitely check out his art over on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/vicreevesart/
